London Alignment Workshop

2–3 March, 2026

London Alignment Workshop

Taking place in London on 2–3 March, 2026, this workshop serves as a successor to the Alignment Workshops held in San Diego, Singapore, Vienna, New Orleans and San Francisco. Bringing together global leaders in academia and industry, our goal is to deepen our collective understanding of the potential risks from Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and collaboratively explore effective strategies for mitigating these risks.

The program features expert presentations, breakout discussions, and opportunities for one-on-one conversations. This workshop brings together researchers from UK AI Safety Institute, EU AI Office, frontier lab safety teams, and leading universities.

Our speakers include keynotes from Rohin Shah, Gillian Hadfield, and Allan Dafoe, alongside technical talks from Vincent Conitzer, Owain Evans, Marius Hobbhahn, and researchers addressing model evaluations, interpretability, AI governance, and emerging risks.

Event Context

The Alignment Workshop series brings together top machine learning researchers and practitioners from industry, academia, and government. The workshop focuses on discussing and debating critical topics related to AI alignment, enabling participants to better understand potential risks from advanced AI, and strategies for solving them. Key issues discussed include model evaluations, interpretability, robustness, and AI governance.

Press Policy

Off-The-Record by Default

This event is off-the-record by default. This includes all interactions at the venue and all communication on event platforms.

The off-the-record default may be waived only if:

  • A participant clearly and explicitly confirms that the conversation can be reported on, whether on background or on the record.
  • Speakers in the plenary room choose to make their remarks on the record. In such cases, whether a session is on- or off-the-record will be clearly indicated to attendees.

Additional Guidelines

Recording and Photos: Press may not record or take photos during the event unless the session is on-the-record or all participants have explicitly consented. Photos of attendees may not be published without their consent. Photos of speakers, when taken during their on-the-record remarks, may be shared publicly by default.

Press Identification: Press members must wear their press identification badges visibly throughout the event. Press members must maintain clear press identification on all event platforms; organizers will configure press profiles with identifiers that must not be altered.

Press Movement: Press may circulate freely throughout the venue and communicate on event platforms, subject to the above policies.

Press Designation and Privileges: Only individuals officially registered as press or event organizers may conduct interviews for publication and write articles about the event for news publications or professional media organizations.

Conduct: All participants are expected to engage respectfully and uphold a professional standard of conduct throughout the event.

Enforcement: Violation of the above policies may result in removal from the event, restrictions on future participation, or other actions deemed necessary by the organizers.
